Stables plan angers councillor

PLANS for a new stable block with an associated yard area on land off Smithy Lane and New Lane Croft have angered local councillor Chris Vobe.
The Warrington borough and Croft parish councillor says the development will intrude on the Green Belt and represents unwanted development on Green Belt land.
But planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved by the borough council’s planning committee.
They say the scheme includes changing the use of a field for equestrian purposes so it for provision of outdoor sports which, in itself, does not conflict with the open character of the Green Belt.
The development is for private recreational use only with no commercial use.
