Toy appeal shows true spirit of Christmas

BIG Storage’s annual Toy Appeal in Warrington has again been hailed a great success.
Paul Fahey, BiG Storage Branch Partner said: “If you are one of the many hundreds of people who have donated a toy to the appeal, please take a moment to consider the joy you generosity will have brought to a child.
“Thank you to every person or business that has contributed to the amazing gifts that have been collected for this year’s toy appeal. The charities have been overwhelmed by the response to the appeal and how generous the local community has been.
Andrew Pope, Relief Project Officer at Grangeway Court added: “Our staff, myself included, have been reduced to tears of frustration at working with families who have nothing to give their children at Xmas time. We don’t apportion any blame to our clients as their circumstances can be exceptionally difficult. The opportunity to receive gifts for ‘our families’ from yourselves has been a great relief and we have worked hard, delivering right up to the last minute, to the needy families who are always very appreciative and totally humbled, by the kindness of strangers.”
Helen Crowther on behalf of the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust said: “Well, what can we say? Other than thank you, thank you, thank you!! We have been absolutely bowled over by the response to this year’s Toy Appeal, the quantity and quality of toys donated is nothing short of phenomenal. During these difficult times it would be so easy for us all to concentrate on our own families and friends, but this just isn’t the case as hundreds of people have found it in their hearts (and pockets) to spare a thought and a present for children living with difficulties most of us couldn’t comprehend. On behalf of all of these children who now have a memory of Christmas that will stay with them forever, thank you.”
The charities benefiting from the appeal are: The NSPCC based in Warrington, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, Jacobs Unique Memory Pot (J-U-M-P) , Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) , St Joseph’s Family Centre, Grangeway Court Homeless Lodge in Runcorn and St Katherines Contact Centre who support families across Warrington.
