A NEW £9.5 million community village for older people in Warrington will be built by a local building contractor.
Warrington based Cruden has been chosen to build its third retirement village for care operator Belong, having recently completed villages in Crewe and Atherton for the award-winning organisation.
The development, which will be situated on Loushers Lane, will have six modern family-sized households, each able to accommodate 12 older people, providing specialist dementia and nursing care.
The village will also include 18 stylish independent living apartments and a village centre with facilities including a bistro, hair and beauty salon, exercise studio and a function room, which will be used to screen films, hold dances and stage village events.
Once built, the village will be a place for residents, families, staff, and members of the local community to experience a vibrant community atmosphere whilst taking advantage of the modern and stylish facilities on offer.
Operation Director at Belong, Tracy Paine, said: “We are delighted to be opening a village in Warrington. The development will not only benefit older people in Warrington,
but members of the local community will also be very welcome to use our facilities. Belong supports its customers to be as independent as possible, whilst offering award winning care to suit individual needs and requirements, and we are looking forward to sharing our service with the people of Warrington.”
Work on site starts this month and is due to open summer 2014.
