VANDALS are believed to have started a fire which cause severe damage to fencing at Peel Hall Park, off Enfield Park Road, Warrington.
Fire crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze before flames spread.
Police are asking anyone who has information about how the fire was started to contact them on 101 or to leave information, anonymously, on the Crimestoppers hotline 0800 555 111.
