TWO additional concerts have been announced as part of the 21st anniversary season of the Live at St Wilfrid’s concerts at Grappenhall, Warrington.
On Thursday October 11 there will be a concert from Anthony Peebles on piano. He studied music at Cambridge and piano with Peter Katin and Yvonne Lefebure.
He has performed concertos with major orchestras in the UK and throughout the world, visiting 131 countries
Anthony has recorded for Meridian Records and plays a varied and popular programme including Brahms, Chopin, transcriptions of Schumann songs and Scott Joplin.
On Saturday November 17 there will be a concert from Chetham’s Music School big band and jazz groups. The big band has enjoyed success on the national jazz scene, laying the foundation for the school’s successful jazz programme. The band has won the junior section of the BBC Radio 2 big band competition three times.
