Students sample real marketing

ADVERTISING students at Warrington have been given an opportunity to develop their skills and experience by working on a “real” marketing campaign for a major shopping centre
The students, from the BA in Advertising course at the Warrington Campus of Chester University worked in teams to undertake detailed market research targeting “fashion savvy” shoppers at the Golden Square shopping centre.
The teams used their findings to develop proposals for a marketing campaign that they went on to present to centre manager Ian Cox and marketing expert Andrew Brown-Allan.
Mr Cox said: “We were impressed with the team’s enthusiasm, professionalism and creativity.
“I’m delighted to be able to give them this opportunity to develop their skills and experience.”
Student Katerina Metaxopoulou said: “The live brief taught me how to put into practice the theory we were being taught in advertising, which allowed me to have a better grasp of my course as a whole.”
