STORYBOOK character “Alice” is to be reunited with an old friend when she visits Warrington’s Walton Hall Gardens Children’s Zoo.
This year’s Alice, Thalia Thompson, aged nine, a pupil at Moore Primary School, is to visit the zoo on Thursday to “adopt” a white rabbit, as featured in the classic Alice in Wonderland.
Thalia has already represented the Lewis Carroll Appreciation Society at a number events this year. Her hobbies are Street Dance, Horse Riding and Karate
The society supports the zoo by sponsoring its rabbits each year. A local child plays the part of Alice and attends local events.
Author Lewis Carroll was raised in Daresbury and it is thought that he used to play in the grounds of Walton Hall Gardens when he was a child.
Thalia will receive a rabbit adoption pack which includes a rabbit fact pack, certificate, keyring, newsletters, and birthday card, She will be invited to a special adopter’s evening during the summer.
Adoptions start at only £12 and further details are available from the park rangers on 01925 601 617 ext 2.
