Restaurant plan for car sales site

PLANNING bosses at Warrington are being asked to approve a retail, office and restaurant complex on the site of a car sales operation.
The proposals relate to Whitecross Car Sales in Old Liverpool Road, Warrington.
Neighbours have objected on the grounds of inadequate parking and a failure to adhere to conditions on previous planning consents on the site.
But officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
Planning consent for car sales was given in 2010 and, originally, it was intended to retain a car sales element in the new proposal.
But now car sales have been omitted from the application which is for retail, financial or professional offices in a new, purpose built detached building – and a restaurant or café.
Officers say the proposed changes would not impact on existing retailing and could be accommodated without causing significant harm to the character and amenity of the area.
They believe adequate provision has been made for parking and the development will not hinder the flow of traffic along Old Liverpool Road.
