Motorist fights off robbers

A PLUCKY motorist fought off two men who tried to rob him of his car at Warrington.
Police today appealed for witnesses of the incident, in Battersby Lane, which took place on Thursday, December 1.
The motorist, a 26-year-old man, was driving along Battersby Lane towards Marsh House Lane, when he saw two men in the middle of the road.
He stopped to make sure they were OK – and was dragged from his car by one of the men.
The second offender got into the driver’s seat, but the driver managed to pull him out of the car and then managed to get back into the car himself and drive off.
He suffered bruising and swelling to his right hand as a result of the incident.
One of the offenders was about 5ft 8 inches tall, of small build with light brown or blonde hair. He was about 18 and was wearing dark clothing.
The second man was about 5ft 9 inches tall, of stocky build with dark hair and believed to be in his early 20s. He was wearing a white hooded top.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, knows the identity of the offenders or has any information, which might help police is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
