THREE care homes at Warrington, formerly run by the collapsed Southern Cross company, have now come under new management.
Talks between the three landlords, Warrington Borough Council and other interested parties have resulted in suitable alternative care providers being identified and the delivery of care services has now been transferred to them.
This will allow residents to stay in the homes they are currently in and continue to be supported by the same staff.
The three homes at Warrington are Callands, St Oswald’s and Three Bridges.
Cllr Pat Wright (pictured), the borough council’s executive member for health and wellbeing, said: “I am pleased to confirm that the three Southern Cross care homes in Warrington have now been transferred to the new providers. The new operators have satisfied the council, our partners and care regulators of their credentials.
“Thankfully our robust contingency plans were not required on this occasion but I can reassure residents and their families that we are well prepared should a similar situation arise in the future.
“We will continue to monitor these homes closely to ensure the quality of provision is maintained, as with all of Warrington’s care homes. We would like to thank care home residents and their families for their patience in recent months.”
Residents or their families needing more information about what is happening at their home can call 01925 444261 to speak to a member of staff in adult social care (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm).
