STAFF from Warrington Collegiate have been sharing their expertise with other schools to help find the next generations of entrepreneurs.
The first FE Enterprise Hubs project event took place at Oakwood Avenue Primary School and explored themes of enterprise education, the school’s vision for enterprise and the ways it could be embedded in the curriculum.
The intention of the NDWA funded FE Enterprise Hubs project is to embed enterprise education and incorporate the teaching of these principles from the ages of 5-19.
The Inset day at Oakwood was targeted at working with teachers and support staff at a primary level to develop this aim in a variety of ways.
Warrington Collegiate hopes to create a sustainable hub with a strong network of practitioners from primary, secondary and FE levels that will continue to share ideas, work in partnership and create unique projects and resources in order to further embed enterprise education in the area.
The FE Enterprise Hub Project includes 13 Colleges across the North of England, which are collaborating with a number of local secondary and primary schools within their hub.
Other schools working within this partnership alongside Warrington Collegiate include – Sankey Valley St. James, Oakwood Avenue, Evelyn Street Primary, Locking Stumps Primary, Birchwood C of E Primary, Penketh High School and Great Sankey High School, Birchwood Community High School and Sir Thomas Boteler High School.
Paul Hafren, Principal of Warrington Collegiate comments: “This is an excellent example of partnership working with our local schools. We were really pleased with the feedback from the event and plan to roll this out to other schools.
“We hope to develop a sustainable model that will ensure Warrington’s commercial future and inspire the area’s next generations of entrepreneurs.”
