ONE in three bags of food shopping bought by Warrington people ends up in the bin – the vast majority of it perfectly good food.
Borough council chiefs say food waste accounts for more than a third of the waste in the town’s black bins.
The cost to the average family is more than £50-a-month.
Now the council’s waste and recycling team wants to hear from people responsible for food shopping or preparing and cooking food, via a short on-line questionnaire which can be found in the “consultations” section of the council website www.warrington.gov.uk
It is also possible to find out how get the most out of grocery shopping by visiting www.lovefoodhatewaste.com or www.recycleforwarrington.co.uk
