PIRATE hats and eye patches will be the order of the day when a nautical themed event is organised in Golden Square, Warrington.
Youngsters are being encouraged to discover the joys of reading as Pirate Fever spreads through the town to mark Bookstart Day.
Library staff are supporting the day which aims to encourage parents and children to read together.
Celebrations start on Friday October 10 with pirate themed family fun sessions in Golden Square between 10am and 3pm.
Youngsters can make pirate hats and eye patches and join in with pirate songs. Children’s entertainer Ian ‘zippy’ Lees will be performing between 12.30 and 2.30pm.
There will be free giveaways including stickers, bookmarks and a special book produced for the day. There will also be the chance to pick up a Bookstart baby book pack for those who have not received one.
