Four boiled eggs nearly proved fatal

FOUR boiled eggs nearly cost a man his life – after he fell asleep after putting them on his cooker late last night (Sunday).
The pan boiled dry and the unattended cooker burst into flames at a flat in Jurby Court, Padgate, Warrington.
Fire crews were called to the scene by a neighbour who heard a smoke alarm sounding but could not arouse the occupant.
Fire crews were forced to break into the property and led the man to safety before tackling the blaze.
A Fire Service spokesman said: “It really isn’t a good idea to start cooking food lateat night.
“In this case, it was just four boiled eggs but the consequences could have been fatal.”
The man was unharmed and fire crews used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the property.
