Mario comes home to get up and go

BIG Brother star Mario Marconi came back to Warrington today to launch the Golden Square’s “Get Up and Go” campaign.
Mario, who lives in Latchford with girlfriend and current housemate Lisa Appleton, launched the event by walking round the shopping centre with Mayor Graham Welborn.
He was greeted by hundreds of shoppers, Wolves’ mascot Wolfie and even had time for a quick massage outside Debenhams.
Get Up and Go is being run by Golden Square throughout August to promote health and fitness through a variety of activities, including the Drop a Dress size challenge, which is free to enter with the winner receiving a £1,000 makeover.
Mario said: “Get Up and Go is a great idea. No matter what age you are you have to get up and go and look after your health and fitness. You don’t have to be a member of a massive health and fitness club to get fit.”
The 43-year-old reality TV star has started his own training regime and is set to write his own health and fitness column for a national paper in the near future.
For now at least, he will be rooting for Lisa to scoop the £100,000 winning prize, but promises something special for her when she eventually comes out of the Big Brother house.
He added: “Love is in the air definitely, so watch this space! It was good to spend seven intense weeks with her. I’m not saying that I want to see her now because I want her to stay in as long as possible.”
