A Government initiative to create employment opportunities for unemployed people who are receiving health related benefits has arrived in Warrington.
Intraining, a division of Newcastle College, has recently opened offices in Warrington to provide assistance to local unemployed who are receiving health related benefits as part of the “Pathways to Work” programme.
Based within the Quattro Building, Buttermarket Street, Intraining offer a variety of services to local people that will
assist in their passage to find sustained employment. A selection of training courses, help with CV writing, one 2 one guidance with job search and even financial assistance.
An offer of £40 per week (tax free), Return to Work Credit, is now being offered to claimants in an effort to ease the transition from the safety net of benefits back in to employment.
Business Development Manager Tony Murray said: “It is necessary too for local employers to engage with this scheme and for them to be a little more flexible with selection and to give those from the community that have barriers, an opportunity to bid for the vacancies available.
“Some employers are missing out by not tapping in to the vast talent that exists amongst this particular client group,
which is why Job Centre Plus are allowing employers to ‘test drive’ job applicants with a work trial.
“This is a great opportunity for employers to ‘try before you buy’ and at the same time let future employees test the
water. There is no risk with this scheme, it does not affect benefits and does not cost the employer anything, a win win situation.”
