Hospital lottery

ONE lucky winner scooped the £399 jackpot prize in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital. A £25 consolation prize was also awarded. Winning numbers were confirmed as 1, 6, 11 and 13.

Hotel extension

PLANS for a two-storey 30-bedroom block, linked to the Park Royal International Hotel at Stretton have been given the go ahead, following demolition of two pairs of semi-detached houses and an outbuilding.

Temporary ward

A 28-32 bed ward is to be provided in a single storey temporary building at Warrington Hospital. The ward is expected to be in use for between two and four years.

Fun Day

MEMBERS of the Asperger’s Society at Warrington are organising a fun day for children with the syndrome at Cinnamon Brow Community Centre, Fearnhead, Warrington on Sunday, July 20. There will be games, entertainment and refreshments. Details are available on 01925 495400.

Extension refused

A PLAN for a two-storey side extension at a house in Lady Lane, Croft, Warrington, has been rejected by planning chiefs.

Pool closure

WARRINGTON’S Fordton Leisure Centre has closed its teaching pool due to a problem with the heating system.
It is hoped the pool will be back open for use by Saturday, July 19.
Users of the pool are urged to check the Warrington Borough Council website www.warrington.gov.uk for updates, or ring the centre direct on 01925 572 504.
