WARRINGTON-based charity The Relationships Centre has celebrated its 10th anniversary – with a Masquerade Ball.
More than 120 guests joined members of charity’s team to celebrate its success with members of the Hollyoaks cast being present to show their support.
The Relationships Centre has been involved with the soap for a number of years advising on storylines around domestic violence.
In addition, members of Everton FC also showed their support on the night as they are ambassadors for the Centre’s Talk..Don’t Walk into Schools pack.
The evening saw entertainment provided by magician, Rob James and Rat Pack singer Graham Oxford and the compere was DJ Pete Pinnington who then took over to get the guests onto the dance floor until the early hours.
Actor Ray Winstone – patron of the charity’s Talk…Don’t Walk initiative could not attend due to film commitments but sent a message of support.
Marissa Hankinson, marketing manager for The Relationships Centre and Talk..Don’t Walk said: “We have been successful in raising over £2500.00 for the charity with the Torres signed shirt being the most popular auction item of the night due to Spain being a finalist in Euro 2008.
“Everyone enjoyed the evening and I would like to thank everyone who supported us in arranging such a successful event.”
“The money raised at the Ball will be used to extend our Talk..Don’t Walk into schools further a field, to educate children and young people that running away is not the answer.
“It was a great celebration of how far the charity has come in the last 10 years and the progress we have made.
“In recent weeks, we have seen the launch of a young runaways action plan from the Government which demonstrates how a small local charity can impact and help to make changes at a national level.”
