Decision on homes put back

WARRINGTON Borough Council’s Development Control Committee lobbied for more time to consult over controversial plans to build new homes in the town.
The committee will enter further discussion concerning two proposals to alter the barn and two other site buildings into homes on Cherry Lane Farm in Lymm.
Concerns have been raised by local councillors and residents over the plans which would see the barn transformed into a single dwelling, with a two storey extension, and the two other buildings combined into one, with single and two storey extensions.
Plans for the barn conversion have been provisionally refused by the council, while the second application had been provisionally accepted.
Both were brought before the committee due to a number of objections from local councillors and neighbours.
They expressed concerns over the development taking place on green belt land, a loss of rural character, noise and concerns about access to the main road.
The applicant was happy more discussions to be undertaken and it is expected to be heard again at the committee’s next meeting in July.
