Students tackle anorexia problem

TALENTED performers from one of Warrington’s top colleges have been tackling the issue of anorexia head-on with their latest production.
Students studying for a BTEC First in Performing Arts at Priestley College have been fine tuning their production of “Hard to Swallow” as part of their final assessment.
Based on a true story, the production tells of one girl’s fight against the eating disorder.
Over the last few months, the group have been involved in all aspects of the production including marketing, stage management and costuming.
Catherine Bolton, who stars in the production, said: “This is a good way to finish off the course and something we have been building towards for a while. “We were aware how sensitive the subject of anorexia is and it was very emotional in parts.
“It is certainly good to put something like this on our CV and hopefully will allow myself and other members of the course to progress onto higher qualifications next year.”
