NEW designated parking spaces for disabled people are to be provided in several residential streets in Warrington from May 16.
Warrington Borough Council has revoked an existing traffic order to replace it with a new order to formalise the disabled person’s parking spaces.
The order introduces designated parking spaces and prohibits other people parking a vehicle in any of the spaces unless a Disabled Persons Badge is displayed.
New disabled persons parking spaces, at all times, are to be provided parallel to the kerb on parts of the following roads – west side of Alexandra Street, west of Earl Street, north east side of Gorsey Lane, south side of Lewis Avenue, north east side of St Mary’s Street, west side of Warrington Road.
Meanwhile, part of Burtonwood Road, Warrington is being closed from Monday (April (April 28) to allow maintenance work to be carried out.
A section of the road will be closed to prohibit driving, except bikes. The section affected is from a point 161 metres south east of its junction with Bicknell Close for a distance of three metres in a southerly direction.
