Jordan creates a splash

YOUNGSTER Jordan Campbell has been making a splash for a good cause by swimming five kilometres to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Research.
Jordan, 10, from Appleton, is a keen swimmer as member of the Warrington Warriors and completed his distance, which equates to a daunting 200 lengths of the pool, during the Swimathon at Woolston baths.
In total he managed to raise £800 for the charity, thanks to generous donations from friends, family and a £250 cheque from his dad’s company.
Proud mum Nikki said: “He picked up a leaflet after one of his swimming lessons and asked if he could do it.
I was a bit reluctant at first, but his dad thought it was a great idea. It has been all Jordan’s doing.
All of the family went down to support him at the Swimathon, I even counted his laps! We are all really, really proud of him on this fantastic achievement.”
This is the first time Jordan has ever done any real fundraising and the family hopes more people will donate to the cause.
