WARRINGTON residents are being warned to be on their guard following a spate of criminal damage incidents in the town.
Police are urging residents to be wary as 10 incidents of criminal damage, anti-social behaviour and suspicious activity have been reported in the Manchester Road area of the borough.
These incidents included damage to cars, damage to front gardens and nuisance behaviour.
Officers have now stepped up patrols in the area and are asking residents to continue reporting any suspicious activity to them.
PCSO Jo McDonough said: “There has been damage to vehicles and front gardens in the area and we have also had reports of nuisance behaviour late at night.
“We want to make the public aware of this issue and to let them know that it is something they need to be mindful of. We also want to reassure the public that we are addressing this issue by stepping up patrols in the area.”
Evidence from each incident is currently being gathered and police hope to bring cases against the offenders soon.
PCSO McDonough added: “Intelligence from the community is vital in building up a picture of what is happening in the area. Residents should report any incidents to us and they should also contact us if they see anyone acting suspiciously in the area.”
Residents in Warrington can report incidents to the police on 0845 458 0000, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
