POLICE have arrested a 16 year old youth after they discovered Class A drugs worth £1,000 following a targeted raid in Warrington.
The teenager was arrested at the scene when officers found the drugs in the Troutbeck Avenue area of Bewsey.
He helped officers with their enquiries, but was later released on police bail pending further investigation.
PC Stephen Page said: “This is just one of many examples of our commitment to tackling the problem of drugs in the Warrington area.
“This would not have been possible without the help of the local community who are providing us with vital information about drug use in their area.
“This highlights the value of community intelligence and we would urge people to continue coming forward with information so we can build up a bigger picture of what is happening in the area.
“By telling us their concerns, and passing on information, residents can make a real difference to the areas in which they live.”
The 16-year-old is believed to be from the Liverpool area.
PC Simon Dean added: “I would urge members of the local community to contact the police with any information – their assistance is invaluable.”
The Northern area Drugs Team can be contacted directly on 01244 613929.
Residents are urged to report any incidents to police on 0845 458 0000, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555 111.
