Students' fantastic Iceland trip

0

STUDENTS from Priestley College, Warrington, enjoyed the natural wonders of Iceland as part of their Geology and Geography studies.

They visited the Blue Lagoon, studied volcanics in the Pingvellir National Park, visited the coastal region with its breathtaking waterfalls and took a flight to the volcanic Westerman Islands.
One of those travelling was Julie Grey, 18, who used the trip to experience a different climate and complete coursework for her advanced level studies.
Julie said: “Everything I experienced was really good especially being able to enter a crater inside a volcano.
“The activities we participated in really helped me to back up my studies as it gave me and the other students an opportunity to see things we had only read about in books or talked about in class.”
She said the trip was “the most fantastic experience” of her life and she urged other Priestley students to take advantage of the overseas trips on offer.
