A WARRINGTON man was attacked by six youths attempting to take his mobile phone as he walked across a playing field.
The victim, who is 20-years-old, needed hospital treatment after the attack.
He was talking on his mobile as he walked across Bennett’s Recreation Ground in Padgate when the group attacked him.
Two of the youths attempted to take his mobile and began punching and kicking him – only stopping when he began to retaliate.
Other members of the group shouted words to the effect of “kick him” and “get him.”
The 20-year-old suffered bruising to his face and had a two inch cut on his arm which hospital staff later said could have been caused by a Stanley knife or blade.
One of the attackers is described as 15 to 16 years old, wearing a white tracksuit top, with dark tracksuit bottoms tucked into his socks and dark trainers.
The other attacker is said to be around the same age, wearing an all-dark tracksuit and trainers with a small crocodile on them.
All six spoke with local accents.
Anyone with any information about the incident, which took place at approximately 9.40pm on April 7, is urged to contact DC Niki Morgan on 01244 613 592.
