ART and Design students from Warrington’s Priestley College gained valuable experience by embarking on a worldwide study programme that saw them visit the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona.
All the students, who are studying on the Art Foundation Diploma, got the chance to visit the renowned site of the Caixa Foundation (Modern Art Gallery), The Museum of Catalonian Art and Gaudi’s Unfinished Cathedral – Sagrada Familia.
Many of the students’ sketches were carried out in the open air as well as the chance to brush up on their photography skills.
Now back in Warrington, the group are using their experiences and works to kick start a final major project.
Art tutor Carolyn Felton said: “Barcelona proved to be an exhilarating experience for all concerned and it was the first time that a group of Priestley students had visited Barcelona – a wonderful, artistic city.
“The students have already been able to produce exciting portfolios of work from the overseas trip which will bode well for them upon their applications to University.”
