Parties fight for 20 council seats

ALL three main parties are making all-out efforts to win more seats on Warrington Borough Council.
Twenty seats are up for grabs and the Liberal Democrats and Labour are both fighting them all.
The Conservatives are fighting all but one – and that is at Fairfield and Howley where two seats are to be contested and they are only fighting one.
The Green Party is also fielding three candidates and the British National Party is fielding one candidate – again at Fairfield and Howley.
The elections will take place on Thursday, May 6. Candidates – who have until 12 noon on Tuesday (April 13) to withdraw if they wish – are as follows:
Appleton
Jean Carter (Labour); Phil Marshall (Conservative), Judith Walker (Liberal Democrat), Kenneth Wilson (Green Party).
Bewsey and Whitecross

Birchwood

Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft

Fairfield and Howley
Doug Ashbrook (Liberal Democrat), Sandra Bradshaw (Liberal Democrat), Peter Carey (Labour), Peter Garner (Conservative), Tony Higgins (Labour), Mike Phillips (BNP).
Grappenhall and Thelwall
