Army to go on show

A PRESENTATION detailing life in the Army comes to Warrington next week.
The dynamic multi-media roadshow will outline the Army’s role in society not only combating terrorism and how it protects UK citizens at home and abroad, but also its humanitarian role in disaster relief.
The event takes place on Wednesday at 6.30pm and will be held in Peninsula Barracks, O’Leary Street.
It provides a platform for the Army’s front-line men and women to talk directly to members of the invited audience. Ordinary soldiers tell their stories while the Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Peter Wall, introduces the presentation.
The team travels the length of the country each year with a mission to explain how taxpayers’ money is spent and what return the public can expect from its investment.
Members will aim to answer questions on why the Army is vital to the nation, its operation commitments, how it trains and prepares for operations, how it develops capabilities through investment in people and technology and why it needs public support.
The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
