Firefighters called out to bus fire at Stretton

FIREFIGHTERS from Lymm were called out to reports of a bus fire at Stretton earlier today, Friday.

The incident took place at At 9.15 am when one fire crew attended reports of a bus fire on London Road, Stretton.
On arrival at the scene, the crew found that the fire had been extinguished by the bus driver.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to cool the affected area and prevent the fire from reigniting.
The crew was detained at the scene for around 30 minutes.
In another incident at around 9.30am firefighters were called to reports of a seagull trapped in the Bridgewater canal near Runcorn.
On arrival crews found that the bird was trapped in a fishing line approximately four metres from the bank of the canal.
Two firefighters used a water raft to reach the bird and release it from the fishing line, it was then passed to the care of the RSPCA.
Firefighters were in attendance at the scene for around one hour.
