Passengers evacuated after bus fire

ALL passengers were evacuated from a bus at Warrington today after fire broke out in the engine compartment.
The fire broke out in Admirals Road, Birchwood and affected the rear seats in the bus.
Firefighters from Birchwood fire station went to the scene and tackled the outbreak with a hose reel jet and then damped down the vehicle, stripping away parts to make sure the fire had been extinguished.
The bus company arranged for a replacement bus and the removal of the damaged vehicle.
In another incident, three fire engines from Warrington, Birchwood and Altrincham were called to the M6 near Lymm when a car caught fire on the hard shoulder. The vehicle was well alight and firefighters wore breathing apparatus and use a hose reel jet to deal with the incident.
