Body found in search for missing Warrington dad

A body found in a field at Lymm earlier today (Wednesday) is believed to be that of missing Warrington father of four Marcus Shaw.

Shortly after 13:30 today Cheshire Police were called following reports of a body found in a field near Beech Tree Lane, Lymm.

The body has not yet been formally identified but at this stage officers believe it to be 43-year-old Marcus Shaw who was reported missing from Warrington on Saturday 14 January.

The death is currently not being treated as suspicious and the family of the missing man have been informed.

Mr Shaw had been seen on CCTV visiting a barbers shop in Lymm on Saturday, where he had his head shaved. His vehicle and mobile phone were later found at the Jolly Thresher pub.
