WARRINGTON Prop forward Anthony England has been banned for four games and fined £300 after spitting at an opponent at Huddersfield Giants last Sunday.

Karl Fitzpatrick, Wolves’ Football Manager, said: “As a club we support the disciplinary action taken by the RFL in this instance. This behaviour is totally unacceptable and goes against the spirit of our club and the game. Anthony admits this was wholly inappropriate and has apologised for his actions.”

England added: “I fully accept the suspension handed down by the judiciary. I’d like to apologise to Danny Brough, my club and all our supporters. It happened in the heat of the moment and is something I completely regret.”

England went before an independent disciplinary tribunal this evening (Tuesday) having been charged with the Grade E offence of spitting at an opponent.
