One more COVID-19 death as inpatient numbers and infection rates continue to rise with over 500 reported cases in a week

ONE more COVID-19 death has been reported at Warrington Hospital, as inpatient numbers and infection rates continue to rise in the town, with a total of 70 COVID patients in hospital – seven up from yesterday.

More than 500 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Warrington in the past week as infection rates have risen in nearly every area of the town.

The latest data comes as national reporting data becomes weekly from today, Friday, although local hospital data will continue to be updated Monday-Friday.

Current inpatients as of Friday, July 1 , 2022 compared to Thursday, June 30 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 70 (63) including 0 (0) in ICU.
Cumulative discharges (discharges of positive patients [excluding deaths]– 4,145 (4,135)
Cumulative deaths (deaths of positive inpatients) – current figure 696 (695)

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 649 – 309.9 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 277.2
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 696 – 332.4 per 100,000.

There have been 502 (487) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 79,269 – 74,329 1st infections, 4,940 second (79,181) and an infection rate of  239.7 (232.6) per 100,000 which has risen again compared to a rate of 205.7 (199.3) for England.
