RESTAURANT and bar operator Revolution has put in an offer to lease two of the three remaining unlet leisure units in Warrington’s flagship town centre development Time Square.
The two units combined would be 6,580 sq feet and be the largest letting in the development, with the exception of the Cineworld complex.
Members of Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet will be recommended to note the offer at their meeting on May 24 and to proceed with the lease terms. The new outlet is expected to provide 40-50 new jobs.
A report to be presented to cabinet members points out that post-Covid, the restaurant and casual dining sector has been going through a period of significant change, with several major operators being wound-up or being absorbed by other operators.
As a result, the council has widened the range of operators it is seeking to attract to include more niche and innovative operators offering a different dining experience. However, the continued success of Time Square has meant it is still attractive to larger operators, despite more difficult financial operating conditions.
The report states it has always been the aim of Time Square that the town centre leisure offer is improved both in quality and choice and at the present time Revolution is considered to be a clear national leader in this and sets a very high-quality benchmark for others to follow if they become part of the tenant line up. The standard of fit out is anticipated to be very high which will reinforce the quality nature and perception of the scheme and what Warrington is trying to offer within its town centre.
The chain already has two venues in Manchester and one in nearby Wigan and is described as a bar, restaurant and party venue serving fresh food, expertly mixed cocktails, premium spirits, beers and ciders, and a wine for every occasion.
