Motorist, 91, arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following serious collision at Lymm

UPDATED: A 91-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a 34-year-old woman was seriously injured following a collision on the A56 Booth’s Hill Road, at Lymm, yesterday afternoon.

The collision, involving a female pedestrian occurred near a crossing on Booth’S Hill Road, shortly before 4pm and resulted in a road closure while emergency services attended at the scene.
While an air ambulance is understood to have attended, the pedestrian was taken to hospital by ambulance.



A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 4pm on Tuesday, September 7, police were called to a collision on Booths Hill Road in Lymm.
“The collision involved a silver Ford Focus and a pedestrian – the pedestrian, a 34-year-old woman, was taken to Salford Royal Hospital by land ambulance with serious injuries.
“A 91-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.”
*The road has since re-opened

  1. The circumstances are not yet confirmed and this article headline miss-represents. Of course all thoughts go to the lady for a full and speedy recovery. There are reports the lady stepped out on the zigzag zone, but all the same a dreadful accident.
