Hot food takeaway approved for shopping centre

A FORMER betting shop can be converted to a Pizzeria hot food takeaway shop, Warrington’s development management committee has decided.

The change of use at the vacant unit at Fearnhead Cross, Insall Road, Padtgate has been approved.
Ward councillor Diana Friend opposed the scheme, but no other objections were received, the committee was told.

Cllr Friend said there were already too many hot food takeaway shops in the area.
Poulton with Fearnhead Parish Council did not comment on the application.
Warrington Borough Council officers said the principle of a hot food takeaway shop at the location was acceptable.
It would not have an unacceptable impact on the Fearnhead Neighbourhood Centre nor on the amenity of the nearest residents.
There would also be no direct conflict with the nearest school – Padgate Academy High School – as the shop’s opening hours were after the end of the school day.
