Another 20 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Warrington as infection rates continue to rise

ANOTHER 20 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Warrington in the latest data from Public Health England, as infection rates continue to rise in the town.

The 20 (27) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington, in the latest daily update from Public Health England, comes as Coronavirus cases across the country increased by 76.5% in just one week, according to official data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

It estimates that 85,600 people in the country had COVID-19 in the week to May 29 – equating to around one in 640 people in private households.
This is the highest level since the week to 16 April and is up from 48,500 people – one in 1,120 people – in the week ending 22 May.
Meanwhile, total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is 18,051 (18,031).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days continue to rise, with 47 (41) – 22.4 (19.5) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– which remain below the national rate of 35 (33.7) per 100,000, which also continues to rise.
Warrington & Halton Hospitals have temporarily suspended provided information due to a data validation exercise.
There have been no reported deaths at the hospital since April 27th and currently two COVID inpatients.
There have been a total of 497 COVID-related deaths at the hospital since the start of the pandemic.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 488 (485) 232.4 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 191.4
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is now 567 (567).
