POLICE have been kept busy across Warrington over the Easter weekend dealing with large groups of youths causing anti-social behaviour, with under-age drinking a trail of litter including broken glass and nitrous gas in parks and open spaces, including sports pitches.
The Warrington East Beat team made a coordinated effort last night (Saturday) to tackle antisocial behaviour over Easter weekend.
They have been covering Birchwood, Woolston and Poulton South dealing with large numbers of people gathering and drinking, leaving litter and making a nuisance of themselves on Woolston Park and Bennet’s Recreation Ground, some of which were Birchwood residents.
Earlier in the day at Woolston Park youths in groups 10+ were dispersed while police disposed of the alcohol and rubbish left behind.
Poulton South Police dealt with ASB and underage drinking involving large gatherings and these groups have been spoken to, many details have been obtained and parents will be informed.
Rixton and Woolston Patrols cleared another group of youths, this time from the dugout on Monks Club.
There have been several reports of ASB and damage in the Sankey North area by youths over the last week or so. and officers are appealing for information or CCTV footage to help track down offenders
In Great Sankey South, since the relaxation on the COVID-19 restrictions officers have been getting reports and pictures sent in showing rubbish strewn over play areas such as St Gregory’s High school sports pitches, glass bottles, tin cans, nitrous canisters. This is an area where infants, juniors and youths play sports.
Over at Lymm at Booths Lane Farm, officers found lots of remnants of rubbish including alcohol bottles where groups ahave been congregating. They will continue to patrol this area, especially on late shifts.

Met up with Poulton North PCDOs today to chat about 3 incidents one criminal one covid-19 and one wildlife crime. It’s returning to the old times. People need to ring 101 and let the police know the evidence.
