THE Hydropower installation currently underway at Woolston Weir is progressing well as these drone images show.
Contractor, Hydropol, cis continuing to work hand in hand with the local community ensuring minimal inconvenience and disruption for residents.
The three Archimedes screw turbines, which are the heart of the project, are due to arrive in early April and work is well underway to be ready for their arrival on site.
On completion, the project will deliver sufficient electricity to power around 380 homes with an effective saving of 750 Tonnes of CO2 per year.
The project will be connected to the National Grid and preliminary work has already been undertaken to facilitate this with minimal disruption.
Below is a drone image of the current site progress.

Looks like a very Green project I must go down and take a look
Probably better waiting until the construction is completed and up and running before you venture out to take a look.
