A gang of youths involved in anti-social behaviour at Lymm after entering a supermarket without wearing masks are set to be identified and to receive a visit from police after being captured on CCTV.
The group of at least eleven youths had all been hanging around Lymm Cross in a very large group, all on bikes and were entering Sainsbury’s without masks as police arrived at the scene.
Officers followed them to Lymm Rugby club where they climbed over a wall and ran off towards Lymm Dam.
Police then received reports of cannabis smoking by the lads while the girls were on lookout. All ran off as police arrived at the scene.
Images of all of their faces were captured on CCTV at Sainsbury’s.
These images are now all in the possession of the police and will be passed to the local school for positive IDs.
A police spokesperson said: “This is unacceptable behaviour and we will be getting in touch with all the children and their parents!”
There have been numerous incidents of anti-social behaviour in the village during lockdown including congregating on The Cross in large groups and trespassing on the all-weather pitches at Lymm Rugby Club and Lymm High School playing football in large groups.

What anti social behaviour Gary? Entering a supermarket without masks is not anti social if you have hidden disabilities. ‘Playing in football in large groups’ , Christ almighty…heaven forbid. Perhaps the youths should play keepy-uppies alone and at home like you did Gary?
So Jay – you think it is perfectly acceptable for a large gang of youths to go in a supermarket on mass without wearing face coverings during a national lockdown – if they weren’t doing anything wrong why run off?
You are only meant to meet with one other person outdoors for exercise, certainly not hang around Lymm Dam with your mates smoking weed, or trespassing on private sports pitches. If you know exactly what was going on let’s hope the local constabulary come knocking on your door.
