Could England’s Jadon Sancho become a Bundesliga winner?

With every passing day, it seems more and more of a certainty that Jadon Sancho will be heading to the North West of England when the 2019/2020 season comes to an end.

The 20-year-old has a line of suitors after lighting up the Bundesliga for the past two seasons with Manchester United and Liverpool thought to be leading the race to sign the youngster.

Neither of these clubs will get him for free though and will have to part with well over £100m to convince Borussia Dortmund to let him go, after reaching double figures for goals and assists in the league this season. Sancho is without a doubt one of the hottest prospects in world football at the moment having also made a big impression on the international stage. It was just last year when the winger netted his first goals for England after grabbing a brace in an exciting 5-3 win over Kosovo.

Premier League fans are in for a treat now that Sancho’s arrival in England looks imminent but before that can happen, the 20-year-old has the chance to become a Bundesliga winner with Borussia Dortmund. Sitting just behind league leaders and old-time foe Bayern Munich with just nine games to go, it really is all to play for in a league that is normally won by December courtesy of the flat track bullies of German football.

Granted, the latest football betting has the Bavarians as the outright favourites at odds of 1/5, but with arguably the best young talent in world football playing for Dortmund in Jadon Sancho, you can bet that Bayern Munich will be looking over their shoulders nervously. Anything can and often does happen in football and with all of the title hopefuls in Germany now poised for a sprint to the finish line, it does seem like we will be treated to a drama-filled run in.

Mind you, it’s a win-win situation for Sancho because even if Dortmund do come up just short in the Bundesliga title race, he will have the pleasure of agreeing one of the biggest contracts in world football just after that to cheer him up. With the likely destination being Liverpool or one of the Manchester clubs, you also can’t forget that Sancho will have the opportunity to challenge for trophies almost immediately again.

He may even be part of Jurgen Klopp’s team that is tasked with defending the Premier League title next season after being declared as a perfect fit for Liverpool. The thought of defending against Salah, Mane, Firmino, and Sancho will be enough to keep every manager in England’s top-flight awake at night.

Exciting times lie ahead for English football now that the youngster is on his way back to his home shores after leaving three years ago. The plan was to always come back after establishing himself thanks to some first-team football at Dortmund, but no one could have predicted how well it would have gone. Helping Dortmund to the Bundesliga title would be the perfect parting gift to a club that have put the foundations in place for him to become the world’s best player.
