The money earned by footballers has become a hot topic in recent times and with that, majority of football fans could name some of the top earners.

Our second player playing in China is in 9th place on the list with former Chelsea man Oscar being paid $29,000,000 annually by Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG. The Brazilian was one of the first big money foreign imports into the league in 2017.
The only German player to appear on our list falls into 8th place in Arsenal star Mesut Ozil, who has recently signed a contract extension to move him onto $30,200,000 a year.
The youngest player to appear on our list is next in Kylian Mbappe, with the young French World Cup Winner earning $30,600,000 at Paris Saint Germain.
Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez is our next South American player coming in 6th place, earning himself $30,800,000 a year.
The top earning player who plays outside of Europe starts off our top 5 with serial winner Andres Iniesta. The Spanish playmaker raking in $32,500,000 a year following his move to Japan with Vissel Kobe.
Continuing in the top 5, we have Frenchman Paul Pogba in 4th place, who is being paid a reported $33,000,000 after his return to Manchester United, the club that he left on a free transfer at the age of 19.
The world was rocked by the huge transfer fee when Neymar Jr moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain for over $200 million, but even more eye watering is the yearly salary of $105,000,000. This amount is almost three times that of 4th place and shows the gulf between the top, top players and their rivals.
The top two places could go to no one else but Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who have dominated football headlines for years. Their rivalry goes beyond the pitch with many football fans choosing one to follow as their GOAT (Greatest of All Time) and using many facts to back up their claims. In terms of money, however, there can only be one winner and this crown goes to the Argentine captain Messi. He earns a reported $127,000,000 an hour compared to $109,000,000 earned by his Portuguese rival.
