New food store set to open at Great Sankey

THE Co-op is set to serve-up a new-look food store in Warrington following a £600,000 investment supporting 15 local jobs.
The 2,800 sq.ft. Hawthorne Avenue Co-op in Great Sankey re-opens on Thursday, after a two week programme of works. It will run on 100 per cebt renewable electricity, and opens between 6am-10pm, seven days a week.
The Co-op also brings a funding boost locally though its Membership scheme. Members receive a 5 per cent reward when they purchase own-brand products and services, with the Co-op giving a further one per cent to local causes.
In addition, Co-op offers a 10 per cent discount off groceries to students holding the TOTUM card – the new name for the NUS extra card – to support them during their studies.
The new-look store includes a Costa coffee dispenser and in-store bakery, alongside its focus on fresh, healthy foods, meal ideas, award winning wines, food-to-go and, essentials.
Ian Hall, Co-op area manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to make further significant investment in the area. Our aim is for the store to operate at the heart of local life, create value locally and, make a difference in the community. The store has a great new look and range – it is all about delivering what our members and customers want, need and care about, conveniently.
