Car park extension will involve loss of trees

A PLAN to extend car parking at an office building within Birchwood Park, Warrington is to be put to borough planning chiefs.
The scheme, submitted by Highways England, would involve removal of landscape buffers to enable the extension and reconfiguration of the car park on Birchwood Boulevard.
It would also include relocation of electric vehicle charging points and lighting columns.
Twelve trees would be lost, but planning officers say this is acceptable as they do not add to the visual amenity of the area.
They are recommending the scheme be approved.
