“Masterplan” for central areas – and a hot pot supper!

WORK starts tomorrow (Tuesday) on a “masterplan” for central Warrington – and the borough council wants local residents to get involved.
A meeting will take place at 6pm at Orford Community Hub in Festival Avenue when residents can find out what it’s all about – and also enjoy a free hotpot supper.
Cllr Tony Higgins, the council’s lead member for communities, said:“We are determined that people who live in central Warrington have more access to the economic opportunities that already exist in our borough, plus those opportunities that will be created right on their doorsteps in years to come through the major developments taking place in and around our town centre.
“We want to deliver a better deal for central Warrington, but we don’t pretend to have all the answers. Some of the best ideas, the most creative solutions, will come from local people and communities, so if you live within a mile or two of the town centre we’d love to see you on Tuesday evening.”
The masterplan process is being driven by the multi-agency Central Neighbourhood Area Renewal Team and covers the following council wards: Bewsey and Whitecross; Fairfield and Howley; Latchford East; Latchford West; Orford and Poplars and Hulme.

More direct engagement with local residents is scheduled to begin in next month, and throughout the masterplan process local residents will have the chance to feed in ideas, review proposals and get involved with the development of projects that matter to them.
