THE elderly man taken to hospital last night after a fire at a nursing home in Warrington has since died.
He was taken to Whiston Hospital in a critical condition after the fire but doctors were unable to save him.
The blaze was in the grounds of the Heathercroft nursing home on Longbarn Lane, Woolston, and involved a smoking shelter.
Two fire engines from Warrington and Lymm went to the scene shortly after 6pm.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
