A GRIEVING mum has lost the only pictures she had of her baby boy who died only hours after being born.
The precious snaps were on a mobile ‘phone stolen after an assault in Warrington.
Police are appealing to the offenders to return the black Apple iPhone to give the victim’s family some comfort.
It was around 10.05pm on Saturday, November 27 that two women, aged 30 and 35, were walking away from a Co-op store on Kingsway South, towards Barrymore Avenue, when two women approached them.
Words were exchanged – and then one of the offender butted the 35-year-old and attacked her.
The 30-year-old tried to help her friend but was also attacked and lost a tooth as a result of a blow to the mouth. She also suffered a black eye, bloody nose and bruising to the body.
The 35-year-old suffered heavy bruising to her face and a bloody nose.
After the incident the 30-year-old realised her phone had gone.
Police Sergeant Chris Nightengale said: “This was a nasty assault and I am keen to speak to anyone that witnessed the attack.
“The victim and her partner are understandably distraught by the loss of the phone and I would appeal to the conscious of whoever has it to please hand it in, even if it is anonymously.”
One of the offenders was about 5ft 5 inches tall, of slim build with dark hair in a ponytail. She was wearing dark clothing.
The other was about the same height with lighter hair, also in a ponytail. They had a brindle coloured Staffordshire type dog with them.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0845 458 0000 or the independent Crimestoppers confidential hotline on 0800 555 111.

  1. I love the way you brits leave ethnicity out of the perps description. Why dont you say thet were just wearing clothes, male or female. Stating someones race is not racist.

  2. I don’t think we do, as a race, leave out ethnicity from descriptions. Can’t speak for others, but I assume all descriptions to refer to white people, unless otherwise stated.

  3. I assume the same David….I hope who ever did this is caught but more importantly I hope they read this and realise the horror and upset that their actions have caused to the grieving parents. If nothing else at least I hope their conciences force them to ‘somehow’ hand the phone in somewhere or get someone else to hand it in so the irreplaceable photos can be retuned.
