Here's the dilemma as I see it. Labour is shot, it needs a huge cull of the 'New Labour' 1997 intake to try and re-discover what the party is all about, it can't do that in government. The country needs a change but Cameron isn't that change, Cameron is Blair minus the convictions-even if those convictions are wrong.Just when the country needs change and some common sense Cameron is all style and soundbites. The Lib Dems are the Lib Dems- nuff said.In short, we are stuffed. |

And thats how Obama got voted in as president, because he was so unpopular with the majority of the electorate? I think you're being simplistic again Obs _________________ Nil Satis Nisi Optimum |

No Asp; he got in cos most were so exasperated with Bush and Co. Wirelss: think it's looking like a hung parliament, which may make decision making even harder. So after a year or two of humming and arring, ther'll be another election, |

No Obs, thats just your opinion. In the case of the USA the Republicans and the Democrats each get a go at making a mess of things in much the same way as Labour and Tory do in this country. This time it looks like the incumbent is going to succeed in making what had been a very successful economy into one of the world's basket cases, much like our present PM has done here. _________________ Nil Satis Nisi Optimum |

Errm strange; thought the credit cruch etc occured PRIOR to Obama being elected, fortunately he's avoiding turning a recession into a depression. The US also had a record deficit PRIOR to his election and the Chinese own over 30% of that debt. So I guess he's trying to look after the US people as a whole, not just the few! |

I'm not talking about the credit crunch Obs, I'm talking about his policy on CO2 emission reduction which would necessitate shutting down most of the country's economy as the emissions target is a figure equivalent to the emissions of the late 19th century. Brown and his sidekick Ed Millipede have the same policy for this country, and no number of windmills will save us _________________ Nil Satis Nisi Optimum |

Hence his sudden unpopularity. People are starting to wake up and notice that "climate change" is just a scam _________________ Nil Satis Nisi Optimum |

Think like most folk, they couldn't really give a damn either way, as long as they can carry on as usual. |

But now people are beginning to notice how much these "green" policies are going to cost them in increased taxation. _________________ Nil Satis Nisi Optimum |

Well as I suggested on another thread, they won't do "austerity" either - so it seems the bubble will burst somewhere along the line! |

The politicians are hell bent on wasting billions of our money on "green"issues like windmills and CCS when they should be investing in new nuclear power stations NOW! _________________ Nil Satis Nisi Optimum |

AND coal They really need to wake up to reality, stop listening to the "environMENTALists" who want to send us back to the dark ages and start sorting the country out so we can face the challenges of the future. _________________ Nil Satis Nisi Optimum |
