Walton gets into festive mood

WARRINGTON’S Walton Hall gets into festive mood on Friday – with a range of fun activities for all the family.
It will be the first of three weekends during which the heritage yard will be transformed into a winter wonderland.
This Friday (Dec 3) will see the arrival of Father Christmas on the polar express to turn on the lights before going into his grotto.
Father Christmas will arrive at 6pm and there will also be music, children’s entertainer and hot food, mince pies and mulled wine, together with a performance by St Mary’s Choir.
On Saturday and Sunday, December 4-5, activities start at 10am and continue until 4pm. There will be music, the chance to paint pottery Christmas decorations, hot festive food including turkey and pork sandwiches, mulled wine and mince pies. On Sunday some reindeers will also be dropping in to see their friend Father Christmas.
On Saturday and Sunday, December 10-11, there will a children’s entertainer, a face painter, Victorian carousel, Yule log making, stilt walkers and winter market selling local produce and crafts.
Finally, on Saturday and Sunday, December 18-19 there will be traditional Victorian music, magicians and a display of Victorian bicycles. There will also be a children’s entertainer, Victorian carousel and winter market selling produce and crafts.
Father Christmas will be in his grotto to meet and greet the children of Warrington at weekends throughout December.

Entrance to Walton Hall Gardens is free although there will be a fee for some activities and a charge for parking at the estate.
